Students will be immersed in a project based learning experience as they develop their own unit that corresponds with their grade level interest. They will experience and learn the main elements of project based learning. The students will be able to design and create their PBL units with support from other educators and from research based articles. This course will focus on how to incorporate project based learning into teachers’ existing curriculum and state education standards, with the goal of boosting student involvement, achievement, and interest with minimal planning time. The projected outcome would be a finished unit plan that incorporates a project based activity, links to standards/curriculum and K-U-D’s. This course would target teachers and special educators of children preK to 12th grade.
Audience: PreK-12 educators, special educators, counselors and specialists seeking to build project based curriculum that is aligned to standards and performance indicators for their classroom.
