Biography
Anne is a native of Pennsylvania, and it took her husband, Brad, and herself 30 years to reach their goal of moving to Vermont. She is thrilled to be living and teaching in the Lakes Region of this beautiful state. In particular, Anne is empowered by the relationship-based nature of education in this area. Anne is a literacy educator who teaches that literacy learning is a sociocultural activity, and she believes that we learn important literacy lessons through healthy interactions within our communities.

Accomplishments
- Member of Castleton University Civic Agency Initiative Core Team, 2010 to 2012, and now sit on the Community Engagement Steering Committee, which prepared a document in application of a Carnegie Designation during the 2012/2013 academic year.
- Attended American Democracy Project’s National Conference, Orlando, FL. June 2011. Two education students and I were invited to join now retired Academic Dean Joe Mark; Dean of Students, Dennis Prioux; Terry Bergman, Professor of Psychology; Melisse Pinto, Professor of History; Melissa Pinto, Student Activities, and two graduate students interested in Civic engagement
- Attended American Democracy Project’s Civic Agency Institute, Washington, D.C. Two education students and I were invited to join then Academic Dean Joe Mark, Dean of Students ,Dennis Prioux, and Student Government Vice President, Ryan Baldinelli at this public participation workshop conference. November 11 and 12, 2010. Faculty advisor for the Student Education Association: 2009-Present. Faculty Federation Delegate Assembly Member 2011-Present.
