Dr. Betsy Hassan is the Director, Nursing Education & Professional Development at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Dr. Hassan has previously served as a hospital Chief Nursing Officer and in other operational leadership roles. Dr. Hassan received her nursing degrees at The MGH Institute of Health Professions, and The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Hassan serves as a board member, as an advisor or as a committee member to the Organization of Nurse Leaders, the American Nurses Association – Vermont, the Vermont Commission on Women, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Northeast Multistate Division (NEMSD), and the Vermont State Workforce Development Board. She holds specialty certification as a Nurse Executive – Advanced (ANCC) and a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CBPPS).
