Deb began her teaching career in 1987 six days after being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. After spending 10 years in Southern California teaching in minority majority schools, she enrolled in a doctoral program in Secondary Science Education. This provided the opportunity to teach at the college level and she has been at Castleton University since 1999. The opportunities provided by the University include returning to graduate school to pursue a M.S. in Paleontology, specifically Pleistocene megafauna. After living on both coasts, Deb proudly calls Vermont her home and is honored to be part of the faculty at Castleton working with the best students on the planet.
