Glendon Ingalls’(trumpet and bass instructor) Vermont teaching career has included 40 plus years directing bands and jazz ensembles in Vermont institutions of learning. A graduate of the University of Vermont Music department, his postgraduate studies have included studies at a variety of institutions including Berklee College of Music, Castleton State College, Central Connecticut State, Johnson State College, UNH, and UVM. His trumpet instructors have included Dr. Herbert Schultz and Charles Schlueter. He has explored bass with Louis Kosma. A multi instrumentalist Glendon is string bass, electric bass, and trumpet instructor at Middlebury College as well as Castleton University. In addition to a busy private lesson schedule he maintains an active performance schedule directing and playing with several groups performing on trumpet, double bass, electric bass and sousaphone in a wide variety of musical genres as well as freelance work. Current performance groups include Chop Shop, The Doughboys, Fanfare Brass Trio (Vermont Symphony Orchestra Brass Trio), The Maple Leaf 7, Mogani, The Onion River Jazz Band, and The Red Clover Trio.
During his performance career he has been privileged to perform with many acclaimed jazz and popular music artists including Fontella Bass, Jimmy Beaumont and The Skyliners, Jerry Bergonzi, Lester Bowie, Joshua Bruneau, Vinnie Cutro, Steve Davis, The Temptations, and Chris Vadala. He has performed internationally in the
Jazz over Volga River Festival in Yaroslavl Russia.
