Dr. Weiss is an enthusiastic Spartan with previous experience providing educational and behavioral services to children with disabilities in urban and rural communities throughout North America. She worked with culturally and linguistically diverse children and families across ages, abilities, and settings in various therapeutic, educational, and consultative roles. Most notable is her background with children with autism spectrum disorder and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Weiss’s research focuses on effective and practical interventions to improve social interactions among children in inclusive educational environments. She encourages pre-service teachers to cultivate reflective and responsive practices that benefit diverse students (such as those from underserved and marginalized populations), advance relationships via classroom membership, and increase access to high-quality and inclusive education for students with disabilities.
