As well as teaching voice at Castleton University, Tenenbaum has a newly refurbished studio at her home in Rutland. She has been the choir director at Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society since 2014, and of Ladies’ Night Out Women’s Chorus, an open-to-all community choir, since 2000. Inclusive teaching is Tenenbaum’s hallmark: she specializes in teaching “uncertain” singers as well as accomplished singers who are studying toward professional auditions. A life-long singer herself, Tenenbaum is skilled in 5 languages as well as IPA. Her musical interests include German Lieder, American Art Song, Broadway and music of the people like folk, country and pop for both individual singers and choirs. Since 1973 she has made a living as a piano tuner-technician. She lives with her husband Phil. She enjoys gardening, bird watching, reading, and used to travel. She is blessed to have grown offspring and young grandchildren.
