Biography

Dr. Monica McEnerny became a full-time faculty member in Castleton's Education Department in 2012 after more than a decade teaching at the middle level. She is highly qualified by the Agency of Education, holds a license in secondary education, and holds a middle level endorsement. Her research interests include literacy, resilience at the Middle Level, and brain-based teaching and learning.

Monica serves as President of the Board of the Vermont Association for Middle Level Education where she works to provide support to teachers of young adolescents across the state. She is a member of the Board of Changing Perspectives New England which promotes empathy and disability awareness in classrooms PreK-12, and is a proud member of the Vermont Middle Grades Collaborative.
