Steve Austin serves as the primary trainer for men’s ice hockey, baseball, volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country. Austin joined the staff in 2014 after working as an assistant athletic trainer at Loyola University Maryland for 14 years.
While working with the Greyhounds he was the primary trainer for the men's basketball program while helping with numerous more programs. Additionally he was the coordinator for First Aid and CPR training for the entire athletic staff while also initiating the ImPACT COncussion Program for the athletic department. Prior to his full-time status he was a part-time assistant and graduate assistant athletic trainer. He has also worked as the medical coordinator for the 2002 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Final Four and 2010 MAAC Swimming/Diving Championships.
Austin received a B.S. in athletic training from Castleton in 1996, and continued his education by obtaining a M.S. in curriculum and instruction from Loyola in Maryland in 2001.
Steve is a member of the National, Mid-Atlantic and Maryland Athletic Trainers’ Associations.
