Karen Scolforo Named Castleton University President
The Vermont State Colleges System (VSCS) Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Karen Scolforo to be the next President of Castleton University at their annual retreat on Sept. 28 in Fairlee, Vt.
In a message to the Castleton University Community, VSCS Chancellor Jeb Spaulding said:
Dr. Scolforo brings years of experience and enthusiasm for the future of Castleton. Throughout the interview process, Karen impressed search committee members with her strategic focus, the value she places on relationships and partnerships in doing her work, and her successful experience as a higher education leader.
I want to sincerely thank the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their time, dedication and thoughtfulness throughout the extensive search process: Trustees Martha O’Connor, Tim Jermain, Churchill Hindes and Aly Richards; faculty members Andre Fleche, Kim Carey, and Helen Mango; staff members Billie Langlois, Gayle Malinowski and Scott Dikeman; alumni representative Ceil Hunt, and student representative Mariah O’Hara.
Dr. Scolforo will begin her tenure at Castleton in early December.
