The Castleton Spartan received an honorable mention at the College Media Association’s Pinnacle Awards in October.
The University’s student-run newspaper was recognized in the category of “Four-Year Less-Than-Weekly Newspaper of the Year.” The award celebrates exceptional student newspapers at four-year colleges. Other colleges in the category include Auburn University, Temple University, University of Texas at Dallas, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
College Media Association’s Pinnacle Awards honor the top college media organizations and individual work across the country. In addition to its newspaper categories, the awards also celebrate the best stations, magazines, websites, and yearbooks, as well as recognize outstanding individual work in broadcast, sports, photo, design, writing, and more.
This is the third award The Spartan has received since 2017, including being named the recipient of a 2020 David L. Adams Apple Award.
